Upcoming Programs at Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center
Due to the pandemic, retreats are being offered online via Zoom. There are a variety of programs to choose from: Saturday retreats, which are in place of the traditional weekend; Evenings of Reflection; online Masses; and a Christmas Concert. In the past three years, seventeen women from our parish have enjoyed the weekend retreat, and this year our retreat date is Saturday, January 9, 2021, from 9 am to 12:30 pm, although you can attend on any other Saturday when a women’s retreat is offered. Faith Formation classes will be starting back up through Zoom on December 20th and 21st and continuing every other week following. Keep Christ in Christmas
As Christmas fast approaches in this year of uncertainty it is important that we try to keep precious the true meaning of the season. The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. One program we are delighted to still be able to share is our annual “Keep Christ in Christmas” Poster Contest; it is open to all children in our parish from grades K through 8. We know many have been missing seeing everyone and our warm community spirit. The Liturgy Committee is asking everyone in Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish to get their Crèches out and take pictures with their family, singles, children, students and all others showing the crèches (nativity). Coventry Cemetery Commission
The Coventry Cemetery Commission will be hosting Wreaths Across America again this year but the ceremony will look different. Coventry Boy Scout Troop 65, led by Mark Hany, will be laying wreaths at cemeteries in Coventry. Even in these difficult times people have stepped up to donate wreaths to honor and remember every veteran in Coventry Cemetery, veterans in Nathan Hale Cemetery and St. Mary’s Cemetery. Dear Parish Family I want to thank all of you for the wonderful expression of your love and gratitude. It has certainly touched my heart to see so many at my final Masses and the outdoor gathering.
