Christmas Giving Tree

Each year the parish donates gifts to those in need, in honor of the birth of Jesus. We are pleased to say that we will be continuing this annual gifting program, although it will be somewhat different due to COVID19.

On three Saturdays, November 28th, December 5th, and 12th, we will be holding a driveby dropoff at St. Mary’s from 13 pm for anyone who would like to drop off gifts.

Also, there will be boxes at both churches for those who cannot make the driveby. HOWEVER, we ask that you NOT leave gift cards in the boxes; instead, you can drop them off at St. Mary’s Office or St. Thomas’s Student Center. All gifts must be dropped off by Friday at noon, for that weekend’s charity.

The charities for which we will be collecting are as follows:

† November 28: St. Joseph’s Living Center, WAIM
† December 5: Catholic Charities, Mansfield Human Services
† December 12: Coventry Human Services, Holy Family Home and Shelter

St. Joseph’s needs gifts for older adults: coloring books and supplies, body wash and moisturizer, costume jewelry, decorative items for windowsill or door, neck pillows or throws, gift cards.

The other charities need gifts for children, teens, and adults such as: Clothing, arts and crafts, nonviolent toys, music and sports items, games, gift cards for teens (WAIM) or adults, and wrapping supplies (no gift bags or tags).

Helpers are needed to sort and pack during the Saturday drive by’s and to deliver to the charities at the beginning of the week. If you can help, please call Barbara Sloan (8607427415). If you have any other questions about the program, please call Cathy Kennelly (8607429983).
