Event Cancellations

Due to the ongoing Covid19 situation a decision was made to cancel both our August Tag Sale and our November Christmas Fair. If you had items for either event and can hold them until next year that would be greatly appreciated. We currently do not have the storage space to take in items at this time. Anniversary Mass
Because of uncertainties surrounding Covid19, the Annual Silver and Golden Wedding Anniversary Mass will not take place this year. Bishop Cote will offer a private Mass for the intentions of all couples celebrating specific anniversaries this year. Each couple who registers will receive a signed certificate from the Bishop. The names of all registrants and their anniversary dates will also be listed on a special Anniversary Page on the Diocese of Norwich Website. After thoughtful consideration of our current circumstances and after consulting with other Pastors in parishes, we have come to the decision to postpone the Sacraments of Confirmation, scheduled for July 26th, First Holy Communion scheduled for August 2nd, and First Reconciliation scheduled for July 18th and July 25th. WAIM Needs Volunteers

WAIM Needs Volunteers
WAIM is in need of volunteers who can help at the loading dock one or more mornings a week. It does entail some physical labor lifting small furniture sometimes and generally helping load and move materials to quarantine. There are strict COVID related policies in place to keep everyone safe and there cannot be more than 4 workers on the dock. Weekend Masses Resuming
Dear Parish Family “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad”. I am very happily writing to you with some good news regarding the celebration of public Mass. I’ve received word from the diocese that weekend public Masses will resume on the 4th of July weekend. Our Lady Queen of Peace parish will resume our regular weekend Mass schedule of Saturday Masses at 4:00 (St. Mary) and 5:30 (St. Thomas). Volunteers Needed for Weekend Masses
Now that the Masses have started on the weekends, we will need additional volunteers to check in and count people as they come in as the amount of people allowed at each Mass has been decreased and needs to be monitored. Lists of names will be provided and the time of Mass. We need at least two people for each of the 4 Masses.
