The Catholic Family Services Office is offering a day for Catholics experiencing the pain and hurt of losing a marriage relationship. Entitled Hope and Healing: Surviving Divorce and Separation, it will take place Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. at The Church of the Holy Family Parish Hall, 185 Church St., Hebron, CT. The Diocesan Catholic Family Services Office is sponsoring two workshops for the bereaved entitled: Praying Your Goodbyes. Both workshops will include time for private reflection, prayer and journaling, and will give participants suggestions on how to navigate the upcoming holidays, and discover ways to grow through the experience of their loss. The Annual Diocesan Mass of Remembrance to honor children who have died from stillbirths, miscarriages or abortions, whether recently or years ago, will take place Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at 7 P.M. at Sacred Heart Church, 52 West Town St., Norwichtown, CT. “Boxes of Joy” Events
You can still pick up boxes to fill on your own for the “Boxes of Joy” Project or you can donate items at either church; there are boxes put out. We will be having 2 bake sales to help raise funds for the shipping of all our boxes. Second Bake Sale held at St. Thomas on Sunday October 19th after 5:30 p.m. mass, and Sunday October 20th after the 8:30 mass. Please drop off items before mass in the center. The St. Jude Council will be hosting a Polish Dinner on Saturday, October 26th, at 5:15 PM in the St. Mary Church Hall. All Souls Day Memorial Candles
St. Mary and St. Thomas Aquinas will again be offering Memorial candles to be lit for one week during the first week of November in remembrance of our departed loved ones. If you would like to purchase a candle your loved ones name will be placed on the candle. The candles are $10 and will remain lit in the church for the entire week.
